Dozens of housewives in Rawa Bebek Flat, Cakung, East Jakarta, joined batik making training held by City Local Craft Council (Dekranasda). Not only that, they also assisted and trained to be artisans.

City Dekranasda Leader, Veronika Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, said after having a skill, housewives are expected to have extra income, thus can upgrade family's welfare.
"Don't because of having minimal education, we can't do anything. We as housewives must have skill," she said, Friday (3/3).

To sell their products, Vero already collaborated with several designers and entrepreneurs. With that, flat resident's production can be sold with appropriate price.
"Not only sell it to closer people. We will help its marketing to shop, designer and company," she closed.
